Thankfully, No One Knows What They’re Doing

Diego PH

If you’re anything like me, you go through intense shifts throughout your week (sometimes within one day) where you are 100% sure we’re all doomed while simultaneously in awe of how beautiful life is.

My time spent on TikTok either affirms my belief in our collective ability to change lives or puts me in a terrible mood after witnessing a horrible take. Essentially - no one knows what they’re doing or where they're going.

Don’t get me wrong, there are moments my confidence could convince anyone that I know the route I am headed. But it has its limits. I’m sure we all go through some variation of this. I know it’s normal - it would be weird to not question everything once in a while (or once a day).

When you’re in your 20s, these experiences are even more intense because the stressors and the unknowns are equally daunting. You don’t have much life experience to rest on. Everyone has failed us: the city we grew up in, the economy we’re currently being laid off from, and the adults & officials in our society that have lied to us.

One thing is for sure though, no one knows where they’re going.
